Forest of Andor/The Oughough PDA

A black glass tablet device that has functions accessed via several buttons used for different features. It gives off a faint evocation aura (from Sending) as well as a universal magical aura.

There is a docking cradle in the magical research lab in the Oughough that can be used to expand the display.

1: Communication

• It can be used to communicate with Eddie seamlessly when inside modules of the ship - old magic seems to work within and between the modules, but not outside.
• Outside, messages have to use new magic. Conversation with Eddie will be constrained within the realms of new magic... 25 words, as per Sending spell, once per day.

2: Magical Research

• It is also a research tool for conceptualising new magic. Tell it the effect you want (Spellcraft DC 15 + spell level or fail for the day) and it will work to translate that into a theoretical transcript of the new magic. While outside, this process takes 3 + spell level days and It will beep on completion.

3: Magical Field Absorption

• It can absorb new magic potential from its surroundings. This potential can be drawn from the device (as an arcane energy pool point) once per day but doing so is taxing on the user and drains 2 Con for 1 hour.

4: Map display

• Eddie has downloaded the terrain map to the device showing the location of the power module.

5: Linguistics

• It can be used to learn ancient Gathlain. Doing so requires 1 hour of study (which can be during rest) for 14 days. This can be partaken as a group.
