Details

Meeting at Craig's in Darwen, 17th-20th of April.

Travel

List arrival/departure times.

My current thinking is to pick Hannele up in Manchester, then drive to the airport to pick up Bert and Delphine at around 11.30, but this option requires good timing and any delays to be communicated ASAP -- Craig

- arr. Fri 17 Apr 09:30, dep. Mon 20 Apr 13:55. I'll take the bus from Liverpool to Manchester. -- Hannele

Hannele, what time does your bus arrive in Manchester? -- Craig
I should be OK for the 10:30 shuttle, which arrives at Manchester around 11:30. Craig: Sackville Street or Shudehill Exchange? I'll call or text you when the bus leaves. -- Hannele
The same one as last time, I think it's Sackville Street. I'll get there for around 11.30, so hang around by the stop if I'm not there when you arrive. Once you're aboard we'll head for Terminal 3 at the airport. -- Craig

- arr. Fri 17 Apr 11:55, dep. Mon 20 Apr 12:25. First time I've flown to Manchester. -- Bert

Outbound (Friday) Flight BE7015 (Flybe). Dep Belfast City 11.00. Arr Manchester 11.55.
Return (Monday) Flight BE7016 (Flybe). Dep Manchester 12.25. Arr Belfast City 13.20.
According to the Manchester Airport site, Flybe are in Terminal 3. Look at them with their fancy multi-terminal airport! -- Bert

-arr. Fri. 17 Apr 11.55 (Flight BE7262 Flybe) from Frankfurt in Manchester dep. Mon 20 Apr 11.50 (BE7265 Flybe) from Manchester. Delphine

- Looking to arrive at Darwen at around 1600. -- David

Shopping

I'll probably get the shopping on the way back from picking people up
Usually the shopping bill is split between all of us. Let me know if you're unhappy with this.
Can you let me know of anything that you would like by adding it to the shopping_list please. -- Craig

Planned Activities

I believe that there was mention of trying a 4e game. I'm up for playing, but not DMing. I have to say that I'm not hugely enthused - not sure why, it might play very well. -- Craig

Friday

Level 1 4e D&D - David as DM

Character builder available here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/insider/characterbuilder (This is only the downloader, and it doesn't have any proxy settings, so it's likely it won't DL from work - aren't WOTC great! Also it uses the latest .Net libraries, so it won't work under WINE, I had to install it on my Windoze VM) -- Craig.

Characters

Since this will be the first 4e game you should have a party with each of the four roles (defender, striker, controller, leader). With the current selection you'll need a wizard and a fighter or paladin -- David

Suggest either standard array or point buy for ability scores (unless you've already rolled your stats).

Player Character Class Race
Craig Barnabas Warlord (leader) Human
Hannele Helena Marchand Rogue (striker) Halfling
Bert Quarion Wizard (Controller) Eladrin
Delphine xxx Fighter (Defender)

Saturday

Morning - I'll be taking the dog out, anyone who wants to join me is welcome to. -- Craig

Level 3 D&D game - Hannele as DM Challenge of Champions V

Some of the rules
  • 3.5 rules - Alternative Base classes are OK.
  • Swift and Immediate actions allowed.
  • No psionics
  • Stats - 4d6 take highest 3 of 25 point buy.
  • No evil characters
  • House rules - Quick potions; No XP cost for spells or item creation

DM Hannele

3rd level characters (Starting gold = 2700gp)

Not fighting based, but directed at problem solving

Characters

Player Character Class Race
Craig Jestix Bard Gnome *
David Zalan Norad Wizard Human
Bert Tansdin Fletcher Cleric Human
Delphine Urban ranger
  • Current suggestion. Willing to change for party balance -- Craig
Looks good to me Hannele

Sunday

Late morning suggestion

  • A nice walk up the hill to the tower (takes less than an hour, but is relatively steep) -- Craig
    I'm in Delphine

Afternoon/Evening suggestions

  • More D&D??
I am all for more DND. Continue one of the previous games? Start David's new game? Delphine
Yes, please. With David's 4e game and my game that is not action based, a "normal" DnD session would be great. Hannele
  • Chill out and watch TV?
No TV please :) Delphine
I'm not ruling this out for later on Sunday evening. -- Craig

* Ten-pin Bowling?

This would be my second choice. Delphine
I would love to, but if we went to a bowling alley I could only watch (not too bad, depending on the beer). If I did try to play I would not be able to use my hand for days to come. I could play it using the Wii, since that does not involve any heavy lifting. Hannele
  • Are we mad enough to attempt another game of OOTS?
NO! I mean: let's not, please, pretty please, with sugar on top. Hannele
