You need the leadership feat to have a cohort.
- You get a planar cohort as a 5th level Thaumaturgist, it doesn't mention that you have to have the leadership feat. In fact it states that *if* you have a cohort through the leadership feat, then the planar cohort replaces it, which implies to me that leadership is not necessary. (A planar cohort replaces a thaumaturgist’s existing cohort, if he has one by virtue of the Leadership feat.)
- k. I'm not familar with prestige classes. Too much cheese ;)
At a glance your gear looks more powerful than what Ted Hopkins has and he only has ~70 k left to spend.
- With regards to the gear, Osred has two craft feats. Only the items for which he meets the creation pre-requisites have been bought at half price. I emailed Hannele with the items and total cost, and also to ask how this should be handled with regards to XP cost.
- I guess Mr Hopkins will just have to look enviously at all of Osred's loot and grumble about his inferior +3 weapons.
- I would normally ignore XP costs because I prefer to limit item creation etc. via other methods. But in this case I would consider lowering your starting level if your XP cost by-the-rules were large enough. It's Hannele's call though, not mine.
- No prob. I appreciate that Osred's gear is a bit higher powered. I mentioned the XP cost as one of 3 options to Hannele (start with XP deficit, start at lower level, ignore XP). I can tone it down a bit if it's a bit much. I don't want to cheese the game.
