==Background==

You've all been hired by a rich merchant, Martin Marion, who wants to show off with his band of adventurers.
For this purpose he's selected the fifth annual Challenge of Champions. Not only has he got a lot of money riding on this (the merchants of the country bet heavily on the outcome), he also feels his honour is at stake.
To sweeten the deal for you he'll pay you all 50 gp for participating and another 100 gp for ending in the top 3. If you manage to win the competition your bonus will be 250 gp. He also will pay for any raise dead spells that might be needed, but those will be considered a loan and will need to be worked of.
You all realise that you might win some money yourselves as the competing teams have their own pool. You also know that the standard amount to bet is 100 gp per team.

==Pre-game requirements==

I need your characters this week, no later than Wednesday.

Because your characters all know each other, I think it's a good idea to distribute your background (or as much as you're willing to share) to the others, also no later than Wednesday. No need to go overboard with your background, but just something to explain your character would be nice.

If you don't want your group to be called Marion's Merry Men, you'd better come up with another name before we start playing. And yes: a teamname is compulsory.
