Old stuff, possibly useful for the future:

Pathfinder Arena Game

A level 9 game (25 point-buy characters) in an arena with a Random event generator.

My understanding from the last game was that this was more fun as a player vs. NPC fight rather than as a series of challenges.
I also seem to recall that the arena effects didn't kick in as frequently as expected. Should the threshold be lowered for events? Craig

Characters will all have average HP (Con and any other bonuses on top of the below) -
d6: 6 + 28 = 34;
d8: 8 + 36 = 44;
d10: 10 + 44 = 54;
d12: 12 + 52 = 64

Characters:

Delphine xx xx xx

David xx xx xx xx

The arena will be 26 x 28 squares
It will have 3D features such as scalable buildings, elevated platforms and gantries and walls all of varying heights. There will be both regular and difficult terrain in the form of areas with stone, sand, grass, water etc. as well as trees and more dense shrubbery.

Some rules

  • Each player has 2 characters, but only one in the arena at any one time.
  • Characters can be swapped by tagging at an arena wall
  • Characters will not be able to buff for 30 minutes before the start (effects lasting longer than this can be pre-applied)
  • Characters will enter the arena by being teleported to the start area in the arena.
  • Each character will have 2 rounds to buff before the teleport.
  • Direct, deliberately damaging attacks on other contestants will result in disqualification, though damage caused incidentally by frustrating your opponents (such as by a spell effect pushing them off a ledge) is allowed.
  • Flying is acceptable (not quite sure how we do that with minis) but there is a ceiling height of 50 feet and the fly mechanics (e.g. skill rolls) will be used as appropriate. Characters who go higher than 50 feet, for any reason, will be deemed to have exited the contest and be disqualified.
  • Other creatures:
    • Companions, summons etc. enter at the same time and in the same location.
