I'm quite keen to DM a bit - it's likely to be Pathfinder unless anyone objects. Rules at http://www.d20pfsrd.com/; details closer to the time (including what level etc.)
There's some good walking around here, in excellent countryside. There's also the possibility of a brewery tour: if people are interested, I can do the research.
TV/film chillout - I need to make you all watch The Gamers: Dorkness Rising because it's an excellent film.

===PvP Battle Game===
A level 13 deathmatch (25 point-buy characters) in an arena with a [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjASfGYXGdtWdFU4VTA0eTdCdEtMamtkcVBWTEg3MEE Random event generator].

The arena will be 26 x 28 squares <br/>
It will have 3d features such as scalable buildings, elevated platforms and gantries and 1m high walls. There will be both regular and difficult terrain in the form of areas with stone, sand, grass etc. as well as trees and more dense shrubbery.

====Some rules====
* Characters will not be able to buff for 30 minutes before the start (effects lasting longer than this can be pre-applied)
* Characters will enter the arena in initiative order by being (safely) teleported to a random location in the arena.
* Each character will have 1d3 rounds of prep time (a buff buffer) before the teleport.
* Flying is acceptable (not quite sure how we do that with minis) but there is a ceiling height of 50 feet.
* Other creatures:
** Companions, summons etc. enter at the same time and in the same location, but can have a different place in initiative order (if higher, they can act before the PC, but return to normal initiative order in round 2).
** Given that undead creation/summoning lasts forever, I can't see any reason for a necromancer/evil cleric not to turn up with his own 'entourage' (though you'd better have command of them!). The same goes for a planar ally, though many outsiders may consider this a frivolous task. All costs associated with having these allies must be paid appropriately. (I'm not adding this for myself BTW, can anyone see a problem with this? -- [[User:Craig|Craig]])
** You can if you wish take a mount inside with you, but bear in mind the arena is a dangerous place.

The plan was for two teams each with 6 characters (two per player). With only 5 gamers, this is no longer a valid option.
Other options (add any you think of):
# One team where each player has 2 characters, and one team where they have 3 (this may be getting difficult for the 3 char people, though still doable)
# Two teams, but one player has a character in each team (a bit weird for the person who is split)
# Five teams of two characters each
# Each player has a guy in each team (!)

My preference is for option 1 (I'm happy to play 3 guys) or 3, though 4 is a little intriguing. -- [[User:Craig|Craig]]

====Craig's Tips====

* Regardless of how the teams end up, it's helpful for each team to end up with someone who is good at creating the following - Magic Arms and Armour, Wondrous items & Potions. Slightly less helpful are rod, wand and other creation feats. Obviously this is to cut the cost of buying the items.
* Those who played the last deathmatch will remember, the team I DMed won based pretty much on the fact that they had bought potions.
* Look at the buff times above.
** Take advantage of the time allowances.
** Buy potions and prepare spells that last hours, and use them early.
** Buy potions and prepare spells that lasts minutes and use them in the 1d3 rounds of buff buffer.
** Buy (or scribe) scrolls for a team spellcaster to use. This allows them to buff another character while saving their spell slots. Scrolls also use full caster level for durations etc.

==Accommodation==

We have plenty of space, sleeping bags, pillows and duvets, though only 3 mattresses and one airbed. If you're allergic to cats, you can book a place in the spare room which is cat-free.

Hannele: I'll be flying to and from Manchester.

I could run another (maybe a couple of) deathmatch games. You could use the same 3.5e guys (the friendly folks in the arena healed you before you expired totally), or use Pathfinder with new characters. Remember that potions/wands are important this time! It's unlikely I'll have any time to do more than this (i.e. use the back story below).

* 3.5 rules - Alternative Base classes are OK. Don't go too OTT though, I'm not an experienced DM.
* Swift and Immediate actions allowed (just like minor actions and interrupts in 4e).
* No psionics
* Stats - 4d6 take highest 3 - I'm sure that I can trust you all to do this on your own.
* No evil characters
* House rules:

:No XP cost for spells, but if you create a lot of stuff lose the XP and maybe be a lower starting level;
:Removed: Natural Spell feat (Druids have it good enough already)

The strip of land where you all live, known as Geria has changed hands several times in the last three hundred years. For the last 10 years, it has been in the state of Melican, though naturally loyalties in the region are as divided between the two nations.

Arameth is the centre of religious belief for the entire continent and is politically focused in that direction. The Ducal title is non-hereditary, and belongs to the current head of the church.
Melican is a loose collection of mercantile city states controlled by an elected senate based in the largest city, Argentia, which is around 150 miles from Geria. Its religion is based on that of Arameth, though it has no formal hierarchy and is derived from a great religious schism from that of Arameth five centuries previously.

Currently Melican is on high alert, and expecting an invasion from Arameth. You have all been conscripted to the defence of Melican.

Please make an individual basic choice of affiliation, anywhere on a scale of zealous proponents of one nation to a total indifference. Don't feel you have to flesh out much more than this though.

Henry's Pathfinder Game

Hannele:

Game started during the meet at Craig's, and continued Wednesday 19/5. This page is a jotter rather than an organised collection of information!

Party explored the rest of the basement, fighting the summoned elementals from the trap and investigating the room beyond. They found:

- 4 sacks of gold coins (total 800gp)
- a +1 cold iron heavy mace
- a set of magical horseshoes (horseshoes of speed)
- a potion of gaseous form
- an oil of invisibility
- a darkwood case with the symbol of Razmir (valued at 40gp)
- 5 gems (moonstones, 200gp each)
- a bottle of Sovereign Glue
- a magical bag, which now contains all the above (Bag of Holding type 1), carried by Dorcas

- a sapphire worth 500gp, and masks worth 1000gp total (from the mask golem)

On June 23, the characters climbed the stairs to the second floor, and took down two human guards. They also triumphed in a lengthy battle with a mask golem, though it controlled Zedd's mind and was doing a fair job at suffocating Keryn and Dorcas.

June 30: saw the PCs making a daring escape out of the window, battered, bleeding and triumphant. The city authorities moved swiftly when they received the evidence gathered, and the cult fell.

July 7: Reginar asks the PCs to chase Iramine, the cult's leader in Tamran, to the Isle of Terror in the centre of Lake Encarthan. They travel on Walren's barge, the Black Mist, but a ghost attacks and nearly foils the mission at its outset. The undead is driven off, but not destroyed - perhaps it is still lurking. The adventurers find evidence that the cultists came this way, perhaps - a small boat has been dragged up on the shore.

Flight times:
Bert - Now Booked - Flying to Manchester aiport:
:Arrival: 9.30 at Manchester. Will get the train into the centre and meet Hannele, then get the train to Darwen.
:Departure: 15.50 from Manchester. Simple reverse of the trip there.

:I've booked my flights. I'll be arriving at John Lennon airport at 9:30 am, so I should be able to make Manchester before noon. Bert: I'll text you as soon as I know what time I'll be in Manchester. Want to meet up at the station?
:My return flight will be at 16:10, so no need to be there before 2 pm.
:Craig: no need to drive me to Liverpool, I'll be booking a return ticket for the shuttle bus from Manchester. -- [[User:Hannele|Hannele]]

==Shopping==
As Bert and Hannele are arriving in Darwen by train, we can shop after you arrive in Darwen.

Not sure of the quality of the rest. I'm happy to DM the Friday slot if no-one else wants to. Level is going to be either 1/2 or high-level, depending on peoples' preferences.

I'm going to be online tonight (May 5th), so stat generation/Q&A can be done then. Stats are 3d6 6 times, with a "floating pool" of 6d6 to replace rolls you don't like.

* 3.5 rules - Alternative Base classes are OK. Don't go too OTT though, I'm not an experienced DM.
* Swift and Immediate actions allowed (just like minor actions and interrupts in 4e).
* No psionics
* Stats - 4d6 take highest 3 - I'm sure that I can trust you all to do this on your own.
* No evil characters
* House rules:
:Quick potions;
:No XP cost for spells, but if you create a lot of stuff lose the XP and maybe be a lower starting level;
:Removed: Natural Spell feat (Druids have it good enough already)

The four of you live in the disputed borderlands of Arameth and Melican, two countries that have been at war for centuries. The strip of land where you all live, known as Geria has changed hands several times in the last three hundred years. For the last 10 years, it has been in the state of Melican, though naturally loyalties in the region are as divided between the two nations.

Arameth is the centre of religious belief for the entire continent and is politically focused in that direction. The Ducal title is non-hereditary, and belongs to the current head of the church.
Melican is a loose collection of mercantile city states controlled by an elected senate based in the largest city, Argentia, which is around 150 miles from Geria. Its religion is based on that of Arameth, though it has no formal hierarchy and is derived from a great religious schism from that of Arameth five centuries previously.

Currently Melican is on high alert, and expecting an invasion from Arameth. You have all been conscripted to the defence of Melican.

Please make an individual basic choice of affiliation, anywhere on a scale of zealous proponents of one nation to a total indifference. Don't feel you have to flesh out much more than this though.
