Gerhardt Janssen (https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=368438)

Gerhardt is a plain-looking man, easy to overlook and easy to underestimate. He tries not to make the same mistake, always watching the world and what's going on around him, and making sure he plans for everything: not a specific plan, but a set of flexible strategies that will probably come in useful at some point.

Always ready with a quip - at least, he calls them quips, but his sister always called them "Dad jokes" - Gerhardt left home at 16, heading out to seek his fortune. For a while he worked as a clerk, before deciding that was boring: then he ran with a street gang, before deciding that was too illegal: then he started tracking down the worst of the worst, the killers and villains that the thieves had disowned. This, while not lucrative, was his true calling. He loved the hunt, the preparation and the planning, and the takedown. Still, he wasn't a killer: he studied anatomy, working out exactly where he could hit (or stab, or cut) to disable a target without killing.

Something in him still called out that there was more to life than this: a way to make more money, while still having just as much fun.
